Toronto’s Broadcaster Jack Armstrong had a few things to say about Joel Embiid during last week’s Game 6 between the Sixers and Raptors.

On Monday night, Armstrong took to Twitter to apologize for his comments regarding the 76ers center, who took an elbow to the face and continues to be out for at least two more games.

Armstrong regrets his comments on Embiid

“I’d like to apologize for my comments late in Game 6 between the Sixers and Raptors regarding Joel Embiid,” he wrote. “I regret my in the moment reaction. Embiid is a terrific player who has had an MVP season and I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery and return to play soon!”

What did Jack Armstrong say about Joel Embiid?

During the final minutes of the Sixers victory against Toronto on Thursday, Embiid scored a basket that took him up to 33 points, which he celebrated with a signature airplane move across the court. Armstrong began his criticism, “That’s bush league. Come on, that’s just bush league.”

A few moments later, Embiid took the elbow to the face from Raptors forward Pascal Siakam and the broadcaster continued, “You get what you deserve.”

As Embiid was cradling his face off the side of the court, Armstrong went on “That’s just uncalled for. Be a good sportsman. You know what it is? Karma’s a you-know-what. Right?”

It was discovered after the game that the 28-year-old center is suffering from an orbital fracture and concussion that will keep him out for two games before being cleared.
