Steve Kerr has been superb so far as the coach of this new US national team. Their 3-0 record has shown everyone that this team means business and that they are not here just to show up. Even without stars like LeBron James or Kevin Durant, this team seems to be too much against their Fiba contenders.

The US kicked off their World Cup journey by giving New Zealand’s Tall Blacks a tall order to handle, with a score of 99-72. They then proceeded to serve Greece a generous helping of defeat, dishing out a 109-81 victory. They then handed Jordan a crushing defeat of 110-62, leaving no doubt that they were the undisputed rulers of Group C.

But when does the US play next, and against whom?

The United States won their group with remarkable skill and tenacity, securing the top spot. Alongside the runner-up from their group, they are now set to face off against the teams of Lithuania and Montenegro, who claimed the top two positions in Group D.

The top two teams from the first round will form four new groups. At this stage, every team will play against the two new teams in their group. Notably, the results from the first round carry over.

  • USA vs Montenegro, September 1, time TBD
  • USA vs Lithuania, September 3, time TBD
