Warriors Draymond Green accused of ‘breaking the code’ by Heat’s Udonis Haslem
Golden State’s star definitely got on the wrong side of the Heat’s Haslem, but it would appear that he doesn’t care.
With the Warriors on their way to an NBA Finals showdown with the Boston Celtics, one would think that they are riding high, but one of their stars had some choice words for the Miami Heat who lost to Boston in Game 7.
Miami Heat’s Udonis Haslem isn’t happy with Warrriors’ Draymond Green
When the NBA Finals get underway on Thursday night it will be the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics who battle it out for the Larry Brown trophy. Interestingly, it was in fact a prediction made by Warriors star power forward Draymond Green who stated prior to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference final series between the Miami Heat and the Celtics, that it would be Boston and not Miami that his team would face in the finals. It now seems that Green’s words may not have been so well received.
Indeed, Heat center Udonis Haslem had a less than pleasant response for Golden State’s star when he made it clear that he felt Green “broke the code” by making the prediction that the Celtics would advance to the finals as opposed to the Heat. “Draymond broke the code,” Haslem said previously. “You ain’t supposed to say some shit like that. That’s disrespectful. He know better than that.”
Warriors’ Draymond Green responds
Though Haslem’s words were obviously not meant to make any friends, it’s quite clear that Green isn’t phased in the least as he responded to the criticism with a bit of tongue in cheek. “It was exciting to know that people pay that much attention to my words and what I say,” Green said. “Wow. They really watched what I had to say and that motivated them? I’m getting better at this motivational thing. That’s great.” Whether there will be another round in their war of words remains to be seen, but what is unfortunately the case where the two are concerned is that Green’s preidiction was in fact correct. With the Heat having failed to get the better of the Celtics in their 100-96 Game 7 loss, they will now have to watch the NBA Finals as spectators as opposed to be Green and Co. who will be on the court.
