Warriors 105 - 108 Nuggets summary stats, scores, and highlights | NBA
The Nuggets defense held strong until the end, but Steph Curry did have a chance to even up the game after Jokic went to the line and missed two late FTs. Reggie Jackson was the best Nuggets player not named Nikola Jokic. He went for 20 points and 6 assists in the win over the Warriors and if he continues to play like that, then the Nuggets can afford letting Murray some time to get back to 100%.

WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM THE MILE HIGH CITY!!!
Warriors starting five
Draymond Green was listed as questionable and with the induction of Dario Saric in the starting five, we get the indication that the four time champ will not be available tonight against the defending champs. That will leave a big gap down low for the Warriors, and it's going to be up to Saric and Looney to contain Nikola Jokic
Nuggets starting five
With no Jamal Murray it's going to be up to Reggie Jackson handling the point guard duties. Obviously with Murray out, the Nuggets are going to need to see production raise from guys like Michael Porter Jr. and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Nuggets nursing Murray back to health
Who knows what the Nuggets would have been capable of in the season previous to their title run had they been healthy. For the first time in a long time they had Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. fit for the entirety of the season, and look at the result. That will be the priority of this season for Mike Malone and the Nuggets, keeping their stars healthy. Jamal Murray suffered a hamstring injury on Saturday night when they Nuggets played the Bulls, and initial reports said that the injury would keep the Denver PG out for just a few games, but it appears that the Nuggets want to air on the side of caution. This is, according to Mike Malone, “not a one or two game injury” and the Nuggets understandably don’t want to rush their star back to the court before necessary.
Western Conference Standings
Taking a look at the NBA stadings after two weeks we see the Nuggets with the best record in the league at 7-1. They top the Western Conference, and have played two more games than the Celtics and the 76ers coming into Wednesday night. The Warriors have won six of their first eight games, and what makes that so impressive is that six of those games have been played away from the Chase Center. Their only losses came on opening night when they fell to the Phoenix Suns, and the Cavs last week. We are sure to see both of these teams at the top of the Western Conference and battling for the top spot in the playoffs all season long. In a conference as deep as the West, these games between teams at the top are going to make all the difference, which gives you a sense that every game matters even in the long, grueling 82 game NBA schedule.
Mr. Triple Double in the house
The Nuggets are a team built to go on a run that will put them among the top dynasties in the league. They have a young but mature team that have battled injuries, growing pains and early round eliminations. Now that they have tasted a title, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray will be licking their lips for a shot at not just another title, but another two or three titles. Jokic is having another fantastic start to the season after a summer of very little, if any, basketball. He is averaging 28.4 points, 12.9 rebound and 8.4 assists. We are used to seeing him flirt with a triple double on each and every night, but his assist numbers have dipped, if only in the slightest. He is and will be the MVP favorite all season, and if he wins it this year, it would be his third in four years.
Curry has been cookin'
Steph Curry maybe 35 years old, but he has shown no signs of slowing down in his 15th season in the league. He is averaging over 30 points over the first 8 games and is shooting over 50% from the field including 47.5% from downtown. As always he is the focal point of the offense, but the difference between this year and last year is that the the Warriors are healthy coming into the start of the season, and with a base that has been with the team for the last three or four years it doesn’t take long to develop an understanding.
Warriors last game
This is the final game of the Warriors four game road trip, and they just are coming off of a bounce back win over the Detroit Pistons after losing to the Cavaliers in Cleveland the night before. Steph Curry led the way with 34 point in the win in Detroit, but it was the Warriors big guys who dictated the tone of the game, grabbing 17 offensive rebounds. Despite that, the Piston still led by a point going into the the final quarter, but Chirs Paul and the gang turned things around in the last 12 minutes, and taking the 10 point victory. Paul has been struggling to shoot the ball since joining the Warriors, but he went 6/9 and dished 6 assists in the win.
