Warriors vs Lakers preview

Warriors

Golden State, sitting fifth in the Western Conference (34-30), will be facing the Lakers for the third time in less than a month.

In the last matchup on Feb. 24 the Lakers came out on top 124-111, with 25 points from Malik Beasley.

Steve Kerr’s men, who are looking for a sixth consecutive win, defeated the Pelicans on Friday, 108-99, with Klay Thompson finishing as the leading scorer with 27 points.

The Warriors rank third in three-point percentage, shooting 38.4% from downtown this campaign.

The team’s main star Steph Curry won’t feature against LA. He has missed the last 11 games with a left lower leg injury, although he’s expected to make his return soon.

Lakers

The Lakers have won four of their last six games, including a comeback from a 27-point deficit against the Dallas Mavericks last Sunday.

However, that game had a cost for Darvin Ham’s players, as LeBron James injured a tendon in his right foot. The four-time NBA Champion and MVP hasn’t played since then and will likely remain sidelined for at least three more weeks.

With The King out of action, Anthony Davis is expected to take the reigns of the team, with the center averaging 25.8 points and 12.6 rebounds this season.

The Lakers, who are looking to get to the final four playoffs and or, in the worst case, the play-in tournament spots, are sitting 11th in the table (30-34).
