Wembanyama gives his thoughts on epic battle with Anthony Edwards
The San Antonio Spurs player spoke about the fascinating clash involving Anthony Edwards.

Last night in San Antonio delivered one of the most electric games of the NBA season so far as two of the league’s brightest young talents engaged in a head-to-head shootout that lived up to every bit of the hype.
The San Antonio Spurs narrowly beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 126-123 in a game that swung back and forth until the final seconds ticked over and Victor Wembanyama and Anthony Edwards once again showed why they are talked about in hush whispers by the fans, producing a true spectacle of elite sport on the court at Frost Bank Center.
Wembanyama’s performance was nothing short of sensational, finishing with 39 points, 9 rebounds and several key moments of class.

But it was Anthony “Ant-Man” Edwards who sent the crowd wild with arguably his greatest individual performance to date. Edwards put up a career-high 55 points, including an explosive 26-point fourth quarter that nearly dragged Minnesota over the line.
After the final whistle, Wemby spoke of the battle, calling it “an honour” to play against Edwards, adding that “it’s one of the best things to have the best players go as hard as they can, because first of all, it makes us better. It makes me better, and it’s a show of respect."
Edwards, for his part, said that he “loved it” and that he “wish[ed] we could’ve just moved everybody out of the way, just take that one. Me vs. him.” Naturally, the question came as to who would win a one-vs-one: “me”, he confidently replied.
“They have Wemby,” he added, “he’s the face of the league. Against him I always have to raise my level. I wish it had just been me against him until the end."
