Poole nearing end of rookie contract

According to Spotrac, he signed a four-year, $10 million deal with the team, this amount fully guaranteed, with an average annual salary of approximately $2.5 million. For the coming season, he will earn a base salary of $3.9 million, which will have an equivalent cap hit and dead cap value.
The 23-year-old produced an average of 18.5 points per game last season, and if the Warriors are happy with his performance, they could possibly offer him a four-year, $150 million regular extension. If they were feeling particularly satisfied, generous, and eager to hold on to the young player’s talent, this could even become a standard max extension of five years worth up to $194 million.
Green’s veteran contract to end in two years
Green, on the other hand, signed a four-year, fully guaranteed $99.6 million contract that will lapse in 2024, when he would become a free agent. This gives him an average annual salary of almost $25 million. He can exercise his player option to extend his contract for almost $31 million. The 32-year-old could also wait until the offseason to negotiate a five-year max extension that could be worth some $46.9 million each year. However, given his age, this offer might not be extended to him.
Poole is young, and can continue to grow with the Warriors for many more years, but Green is a proven cog in the team’s defense. The recent conflict between the two may or may not have anything to do with their contracts, but it could be bringing to the fore the team’s need to balance the tried-and-tested old guard with the new breed of players.
