What is Steph Curry’s record of made threes in a single game? And in a playoff game?
As evidenced by his most recent 3-point related record, there is nobody quite like Golden State’s Steph Curry and there likely won’t be for a long time to come.

Though he is without doubt the greatest 3-point shooter that the NBA has ever seen, you might be surprised to know that the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry doesn’t have his name on every 3-point record. Indeed, the sharp shooter can thank his teammate, Klay Thompson, for that as well as a certain point guard from Portland.

As mentioned above, Curry is widely regarded as the league’s three-point king, however, he doesn’t actually have the record for the most made 3s in a single game. That honor belongs to his fellow “Splash Brother,” Klay Thompson who currently has 14. As for Curry himself, he’s currently sitting on 13, a feat also achieved by Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls and Portland’s Damian Lillard. Interestingly, Curry and Thompson have also played games in which they posted 12 three-pointers as well, joining the likes of Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall. Here’s a look at the full list:
| Rank | Player | 3-pointers made |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Klay Thompson | 14 |
| 2 | Steph Curry | 13 |
| Zach LaVine | 13 | |
| Damian Lillard | 13 | |
| 4 | Klay Thompson (x2) | 12 |
| Steph Curry | 12 | |
| Kobe Bryant | 12 | |
| Donyell Marshall | 12 | |
| 5 | Steph Curry (x10) | 11 |
| Damian Lillard (x3) | 11 | |
| Zach LaVine | 11 | |
| CJ McCollum | 11 | |
| Klay Thompson | 11 | |
| Kyrie Irving | 11 |

What about Steph Curry’s 3-point playoff record?
Again, you might not be expecting it but neither Curry nor Thompson sit in the No. 1 spot when it comes to the most 3-pointers made in a single playoff game. That milestone is owned by the Trailblazers’ Damian Lillard, who drained 12 from downtown during a double-overtime 2021 playoff loss to the Denver Nuggets. After Lillard there is only one other player to have registered ten or more 3s in a postseason game and that’s Klay Thompson with 11. Lillard comes in once again at third with 10 and then Curry in fourth with 9. Here’s a better look at how it all breaks down:
| Rank | Player | 3-pointers made |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Damian Lillard | 12 |
| 2 | Klay Thompson | 11 |
| 3 | Damian Lillard | 10 |
| 4 | Steph Curry (x2) | 9 |
| Donovan Mitchell (x2) | 9 | |
| Jamal Murray (x2) | 9 | |
| Ray Allen (x2) | 9 | |
| Damian Lillard | 9 | |
| Klay Thompson | 9 | |
| Bojan Bogdanovic | 9 | |
| Vince Carter | 9 | |
| Jason Terry | 9 | |
| Rex Chapman | 9 |
