What the Lakers saw in Adou Thiero – and seven others they just signed
Los Angeles moves quickly to fill out its Summer League and development roster after drafting just one player.

Although the Los Angeles Lakers only held the 55th pick in the NBA Draft, a deal allowed them to acquire the draft rights to Adou Thiero, a forward from the University of Arkansas who had been selected 36th overall by the Brooklyn Nets.

Adou Thiero, the Lakers’ lone Draft addition (Pick 36)
The Lakers took a gamble on Adou Thiero, a versatile forward out of Arkansas. With the Razorbacks, he averaged15.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game. His primary weakness is his inconsistent three-point shooting – just 28.4% from beyond the arc in college, with only 25.6% of his total shots coming from long range – which likely kept him out of first-round consideration.

- Julian Reese | Forward
- RJ Davis | Guard
- Augustas Marciulionis | Guard
- TY Johnson | Guard
- Ethan Taylor | Guard

Eric Dixon | Forward – Two-way contract
Dixon, a graduate of Villanova, had been on the Lakers’ radar and was even considered a possible late pick. While he went undrafted, his scoring ability stood out – he led NCAA Division I in scoring last season with 23.3 points per game, shooting 48.3% from three.
TY Johnson | Guard – Summer League deal
Set to compete in the Summer League, Johnson led the University of California in scoring and also topped the team in assists and steals. However, his strong individual numbers came in a losing campaign for the program.

Julian Reese | Forward – Summer League
Julian Reese, younger brother of Chicago Sky WNBA star Angel Reese, joined the Lakers as an undrafted rookie. In his final season with Maryland, he averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
Augustas Marciulionis | Guard – Exhibit 10 contract
At Saint Mary’s, Marciulionis was a key figure in his final season, averaging 14.2 points and 5.9 assists, while shooting 44.6% from the field and 34.7% from three-point range.

Air Force’s Ethan Taylor will join the Los Angeles Lakers at NBA Summer League, I’m told.
