The Knicks, who claimed the East’s No.2 seed with a 50-32 regular-season record, will now host the Sixers in Game 1 of their playoff series on Saturday 20 April.
As the lower seed, Philadelphia will only have home advantage in a maximum of three match-ups in the best-of-seven series, whose seventh game - if needed - will be played on Saturday 4 May.
The winners of the first-round playoff series will move on to a conference semi-final against No. 3 seed the Milwaukee Bucks or No. 6 seed the Indiana Pacers.

The Sixers, who finished the regular season seventh in the East with a 47-35 record, have been eliminated in the conference semi-finals in each of the past three seasons.
The Pennsylvanians were last crowned Eastern Conference champions in 2021, and won the last of their three NBA titles in 1983.
Meanwhile, this is only the Knicks’ third appearance in the playoffs in the past 11 seasons. Like the Sixers, New York were knocked out in the conference semi-finals last year.
Two-time NBA winners, the Knicks are chasing a first championship since 1973, and last reached the finals in 1999.
