NBA PLAYOFFS

When was the last time the Knicks made it to the second round of the NBA playoffs?

Tom Thibodeau’s side needs to win Game 5 against the Miami Heat to force a sixth match and avoid elimination from the NBA playoffs.

The New York Knicks will try to record an impressive comeback to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, but to do so they will first need to win tonight’s game against the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks, who finished in the fifth position in the East at the end of the regular season, easily defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round (4-1).

However, things haven’t gone their way so far against the Heat. Erik Spoelstra’s men have only lost two games since the playoffs started, as they won their series vs. the Milwaukee Bucks 4-1, and have only lost one match against New York.

Jimmy Butler has probably been the best player in the second round, while Bam Adebayo recorded a solid performance last time out to lead the Heat to the victory.

New York fans will hope to see an uprising by the Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett, and Julius Randle trio at the Garden that will force a sixth game in Miami.

When was the last time the Knicks got this far?

New York are trying to make history and win their third NBA Championship. However, history hasn’t been favorable to the Knicks, as their titles were won in 1970 and 1973.

The last time that NY got this far in the NBA was during the 2021-13 season. They advanced to the second-round playoff series after defeating the Boston Celtics in six games.

However, their quest for the title ended when they played against Indiana. The Pacers advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals after getting the best of the Knicks in six games.

After their playoff appearance in 2013, the Knicks experienced a lengthy postseason drought that lasted until 2021, when they lost to Atlanta in five games in the first round.
