When was the last time the NBA playoffs were without LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant?
‘King’ James, ‘Chef’ Curry and ‘Durantula’ were eliminated from the playoffs, but they will still be together with the Dream Team at the Olympic Games.

The NBA playoffs of 2024 are well underway, unveiling some surprises, providing the first eliminations, and highlighting those teams still nurturing the dream of reaching the coveted NBA Finals. Additionally, early contenders for the prestigious Larry O’Brien Trophy are beginning to emerge.
It appears, though, that we are witnessing a significant generational shift, as the prominent figures of recent years are being ousted from the playoffs. This suggests that the torch may be passing to the next wave of basketball talent in the NBA. Although we’ve said that before.

Two decades since James, Curry and Durant missed NBA playoffs
For the first time since 2005, the second round of the postseason will not feature the presence of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, or Kevin Durant—three of the NBA’s major protagonists in recent times.
The Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated after succumbing 4-1 to the Denver Nuggets, despite a remarkable offensive display from ‘King’ James with the California-based team.

Kevin Durant’s Phoenix Suns were ousted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in a series that ended in a 4-0 sweep. Lastly, the Golden State Warriors fell short in the Play-In Tournament, losing 118-94 to the Sacramento Kings, extinguishing Stephen Curry’s hope of reaching another NBA Finals.
