The USC star has had an eventful season. From a cardiac arrest during practice last summer, to the subsequent road to recovery and declaration for the NBA Draft, Bronny James has had a wild ride. Now, with the Draft looming, it’s all about what team he will play for.

Bronny James will visit with two NBA teams

If you caught our report last month, you will know that Bronny James declared for the NBA draft. What you may not know is that since then, the Trojans’ guard has received no less than 10 workout invites from teams in the NBA. Yet, even more interesting is the fact that on Tuesday, reports suggested that James himself has only had direct contact with two or three teams up to this point. As for who they are, you can probably guess the first given all that his famous father has said about his desire to play with his son.

As for the second, it may surprise you to know that it’s another team in the west and one that is also laden with stars. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania on Tuesday, a certain team in Arizona is interested in the services of the young prospect. “I’m told he’s only going to visit a couple of those, and that’s going to include the [Los Angeles] Lakers and the Phoenix Suns,” Charania said on Run It Back. It’s worth noting that Charania also indicated that James’ destination could depend on the “development plan” and “guaranteed money” offered from the teams.

So, in conclusion, what can we take from this? As stated above, we knew the Lakers were in the mix for some time now with LeBron openly stating his desire, on more than one occasion, to play with his son. To that end, the suggestion that he’s scheduled to have a workout with the team should come as no surprise. As for the Suns, that’s where things get interesting. At present, Phoenix has the No. 22 pick in the NBA Draft which tips off on Wednesday, June 26th. To be clear, the Suns have several players on the radar and with James slated to go at the end of the first round or early in the second, it seems to be a bit of stretch. That said, here we are. Ultimately, while there is nothing carved in stone, it would be best to keep an eye on this as Bronny’s final destination will turn heads regardless of where it is.
