Why was OG Anunoby so quiet? Knicks can’t stop laughing during viral ‘GMA’ moment
The New York Knicks have been everywhere since ending their 53-year title drought, but one of the most talked-about moments came in silence.

During a live appearance on “Good Morning America”, OG Anunoby found himself at the center of a viral moment after seemingly freezing when asked a question, leaving his teammates struggling to hold it together.
As host George Stephanopoulos asked about the impact of head coach Mike Brown, the Knicks players turned toward Anunoby to respond. But...he didn’t. He didn’t even react. Just sat there with a completely stone-faced stare.
Within seconds, the rest of the group, including Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, broke into laughter as the moment spiraled into awkward hilarity.
“I guess I’ll answer,” Brunson said, stepping in as the group tried to recover.

A perfect OG moment or championship celebrations catching up?
Anunoby has built a reputation as one of the most reserved personalities in the NBA, someone known for dry humor, minimal reactions, and keeping things short even in normal interviews.
“That’s not true!”

But even still, this moment was extra awkward. Whether he didn’t hear the question, was completely drained from days of nonstop celebrating, or was simply leaning into his famously stoic demeanor, the moment immediately took on a life of its own online.
The Knicks have barely slowed down since clinching the title. After winning in San Antonio, the team flew straight back to New York, jumped into citywide celebrations, attended parties, and began a full media tour, all within less than 48 hours.
By the time they reached Monday morning television, the exhaustion may have been unavoidable. Fans quickly leaned into that theory on social media, joking that Anunoby looked like he was “hanging on for dear life” or needed to “factory reset.”
OG Anunoby is absolutely FRIED.

Beyond the laughs, the clip also highlighted something the chemistry amongst the players. Instead of awkwardness derailing the segment, the team leaned into it. Teammates laughed, stepped in seamlessly, and turned what could’ve been an uncomfortable pause into a genuinely funny, human moment. It’s the kind of interaction that reflects why this group connected so well during its championship run.
And the celebrations aren’t over yet. If Anunoby looked checked out now, there’s more coming. The Knicks are set to celebrate with a massive ticker-tape parade through New York City on Thursday, meaning the cameras and the moments aren’t going anywhere soon.
