The starters for the NBA All-Star Game 2023 have already been announced and tonight the league announced the reserves prior to the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Memphis Grizzlies game.

The 14 players were chosen entirely by the coaches. The starting five’s will be backed up by seven extra players from each conference and will be selected prior to the game through the NBA All-Star Draft.

In the Eastern Conference, Joel Embiid and DeMar DeRozan received their sixth All-Star Game invite; Jaylen Brown, Bam Adebayo, Jrue Holiday and Julius Randle were invited for the second time. The only first-timer in the Eastern Conference was Tyrese Haliburton.

There were some surprises out of the Eastern Conference as James Harden of the Philadelphia 76ers; Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat; and Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors were left off the squad.

The Western Conference substitutes will be Ja Morant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Domantas Sabonis, Lauri Markkanen, Damian Lillard and Paul George.

Anthony Edwards has had an All-Star worth campaign just like De’Aaron Fox has, but neither were picked by the NBA coaches.
