Who is Dorrough Music, the half-time performer at the NBA Finals game 3 in Dallas?

So, here we are at half-time in Game 3 of the NBA Finals... how are the nerves?

The man on your screen, presumably singing his hit number ‘Walk That Walk’, is none other than Dorrough Music.

What is Dorrough Music’s most famous song?

The Texas native, whose real name is Dorwin Demarcus Dorrough, is a rapper and songwriter who began his career when he was a child, selling homemade mixtpes at school. A keen basketball fan, Dorrough did not graduate but soon made his name when his song ‘Ice Cream Paint Job’ made its way onto the Billboard 100.

The song did so well that various artists decided to collaborate with Dorwin and put together a remix: Soulja Boy, Rich Boy, Jermaine Dupri, Jim Jones, Slim Thug and E-40 all took part in the extended version.

Dorrough Music released his debut album in 2009, entitled Dorrough Music, which sold 13,000 copies in the first-week. The 15-track project reached number 2 in the US Top Rap Albums Billboard, as well as number 36 in the overall standings.

His other albums include Get Big (2010), Ride wit Me (2017) and The Jump Back (2018). At the time of writing, Mr Dorrough has 606,124 monthly listeners on music streaming service, Spotify, as well as 102,000 YouTube subscribers.

With his success he got more involved with pro basketball, and made his first Mavs anthem, “Dallas Mavs (Bounce Dat)” just a few months before the team was named the 2011 NBA Champions, and he performed at their 2011 championship parade.
