According to sources, Jordi Fernandez, the associate head coach of the Sacramento Kings, has taken on the role of head coach for the Canadian national basketball team. The team is known for having a roster full of talented players.
Fernandez has been appointed as the coach of the Canadian team for the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics. The team is expected to feature some notable NBA players such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jamal Murray, and RJ Barrett.
Fernandez has replaced Nick Nurse as the national team’s coach. Nurse has been coaching the team since 2019 while also serving as the coach of the Toronto Raptors.
