The Chicago Bulls had some extra help during their Play-In victory against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night, and it came from one of the unlikeliest of sources.
When watching a game live, most sports fans are aware of the effect that they can have on a game’s outcome by virtue of their presence, volume and intensity. Yet, it’s got to be said that it’s not often we see a single fan altering the course of a contest and especially not one who is so young.

On Wednesday night, the Chicago Bulls took on the Toronto Raptors in a win-or-go-home Play-In Tournament game and it was clear from the outset that it was going to be an intense affair. Yet, what was also clear was that one fan in particular was intent on rattling the Raptors every single time that they went to the free-throw line. Indeed, on each occasion a high-pitched scream could be heard to the extent that fans began to wonder just who it could be. Even more so because the Raptors were playing at home, begging the question ‘what fan would be brave enough to do that every time they went to the line?’
Though it took some time for the source of screams to be located, the culprit was finally identified, and it was none other than Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan’s 9-year-old daughter, Diar. Needless to say, Raptors fans were left confused about whether they should laugh or be annoyed, given that it was the young daughter of a star who you used to play for the team causing all the ruckus. The best part - if you’re Bulls fan - is that her tactic actually seemed to work. On the night the Raptors shot just 18-of-36 (50%) from the line. When you consider that they ultimately lost the game 109-105, it’s safe to say that was a major part of it. With that Bulls now advance to the most important game of their season so far, a showdown with the Miami Heat for the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
