Will Giannis Antetokounmpo play for the Bucks against the Thunder in the NBA Cup final?
Fans have been sweating over the fitness of Giannis Antetokounmpo ahead of the NBA Cup final.

The Milwaukee Bucks will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the final of the hotly-contested NBA Cup 2024 (Dec 17,8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT). After what has been a sensational tournament, the two remaining teams will battle it out for the trophy at T-Mobile Arena.
Ahead of the game, there have been a few injury concerns for both sides, with Bucks fans sweating over the fitness of star man Giannis Antetokounmpo, who appeared on the official injury list ahead of the tie.
After falling at the semi-final stage last year, the Greek-Nigerian scored 32 points and secured 14 rebounds as he lead his team to a 110-102 win over the Atlanta Hawks to reach the NBA Cup final, as well as 9 assists, 4 blocks and a steal.
What injury does Giannis Antetokounmpo have?
“We were able to disrupt their offense,” said Antetokounmpo. “We were moving the ball, playing team basketball, getting to our spots, knocking down a few shots down the stretch. That’s why we were able to get the win.
“We trust one another. We play together. There’s no more hero ball.”
The turnaround from the Bucks has been sensational: they started the season with 2 wins from their opening 10 but since then they have gone on to win 12 of their next 15.
However, he is a fixture on the Bucks injury list, and is down as ‘probable’ due to a right patella tendinopathy, which means that he will likely play having likely been given the green light from the club medical staff.
Will Damian Lillard play for the Bucks?
Lillard is struggling with a right calf contusion, and is also listed as ‘probable’ on the official report submitted to the NBA.
Milwaukee have gone undefeated (6-0) in the NBA Cup so far and have won three straight games coming into the final. The Thunder, meanwhile, are 20-5 across the current year; they are on a fantastic run of 5 consecutive wins and have looked like the best team in the Western Conference.
The game between the Bucks and the Thunder will be played on Tuesday December 17 at T-Mobile Arena with tip-off at 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT.
