Why isn’t Jaylen Brown playing against the Heat in the NBA game on Monday? Injury update
The Celtics star is set to miss out on the action against the Miami Heat.
Jaylen Brown is set to miss out on the Boston Celtics' game against the Miami Heat as the star player continues to recover from the issue that kept him out against the Cleveland Cavaliers (Monday December 2 at 7:30pm ET).
The tight contest between the two ended with the Cleveland side snatching victory by just 4 points, ultimately winning 115-111 thanks to a strong final quarter that saw them put away 43 points.
For the tie, Jaylen Brown was ruled out with illness, and it appears that the same problem will keep him on the sidelines for the next game, against the Miami Heat.
Boston Celtics injury latest
The official NBA injury report, which is submitted by every team ahead of all games, has Jalyen Brown out of action with a ‘non-COVID’ illness.
Along with Brown, the Celtics won’t be able to count on Anton Watson (G-League) and Derrick White (ankle sprain).
However, Kristaps Porzingis, JD Davison, Drue Holiday and Al Horford are all back in action after missing out on action earlier in the season.
The Cavaliers have a quintet of players unavailable to them: Emoni Bates (G-League), Max Strus (ankle sprain), JT Thor (G-League), Luke Travers (G-League) and Dean Wade (ankle sprain).
In the Eastern Conference, the Celtics sit second, just behind the Cleveland Cavaliers who got the better of them the last time out. They do have, however, one game in hand on their division rivals and the chance to go top should they prove too much for the Miami Heat.
The Heat are down in 6th place but a couple of games in hand perhaps makes their league position seem slightly worse ahead of the huge game at TD Garden. The Celtics take on the Heat on Monday December 2 at 7:30pm ET.
