The Los Angeles Lakers have started evaluating potential candidates for the head coach position for the upcoming season. The management is inclined towards someone with prior coaching experience as Darvin Ham struggled to lead the team effectively in his first two years as an NBA coach.

One of the options being considered is J.J. Redick, who has already been interviewed by the Charlotte Hornets and has shown interest in coaching an NBA team. Redick had appeared on the ‘Road Trippin’ podcast, expressing his longing to play the game despite being involved as an analyst during the season.

J.J. Redick misses the NBA

I am currently a host of multiple podcasts, and I really enjoy those things. I’m very lucky to do that. About being a coach, I guess a tiny part of me misses playing. I miss shooting the ball and making plays. What I really miss is that feeling, the action, the competition, the leadership, and being on a team,” said J.J. Redick.

Being in a locker room physically after winning a game as the visiting team. You miss those things. There is a thrill you get as an athlete that goes beyond passing, shooting, dribbling, charging, or dunking a ball. That’s all these little guys in one game. It’s the other moments that I feel like we all miss as former athletes,” he added.
