Will Jalen Brunson play today for the Knicks against the Magic?

New York Knicks fans will not have slept since the turn of the year with star of the side, Jalen Brunson, not budging from the injury list.

The official injury report submitted by the team has the 28-year-old down with the same right calf tightness that has worried fans for a while now.

Despite being able to feature in the recent game against the Chicago Bulls, in which he scored 33 points, got 8 assists and 2 rebounds, Brunson was not able to drag his side to victory against a spirited opponent who came out 139-126 on the night at United Center.

However, it is not all bad news: after previously being listed as ‘questionable’, doctors have given the player an upgrade to ‘probable’, meaning they are clearly happy with the way the player is progressing in his recovery and return to full fitness, and coach Tom Thibodeau will likely be able to count on his guard.

A huge outlet for his side this season, Brunson has averaged 27.0 points, 7.4 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals over 36.8 minutes per game across his last 10 outings.

Karl-Anthony Towns (knee), Miles McBride (hamstring) and Mitchell Robinson (ankle) are all on the Knicks' injury list alongside Brunson, but only the latter is confirmed as ‘out’, with the other two ‘questionable’.

The New York Knicks take on the Orlando Magic on Monday 6 January with tip-off at Madison Square Garden set for 7:30pm ET. The home side sit 3rd in the Eastern Conference standings ahead of the game, while the Florida side are right behind them in fourth position.
