Fans are anxiously squashing their faces with tense biceps and stiff fingers as the clock ticks down to the action at Chase Center where the Golden State Warriors will take on a new-look Philadelphia 76ers in 2025.

And the horsepower on the squeezes was ramped up to 14 earlier in the day after it emerged that Steph Curry was one of the names on the Warriors' injury list submitted to the NBA.

What injury does Steph Curry have?

The Olympic gold medallist is, at the time of writing, listed on the official document as being ‘questionable’ for the already tense tie after suffering an injury to his thumb.

Curry, 36, was a key member of the Warriors as they completed the sweep over the 76ers last year, but his doubtful appearance in the upcoming game will surely give his opponents a boost ahead of time. This season he is averaging 22.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game as well as shooting 43.7% from the field and 40.1% from beyond the arc in 26 games.

As well as their star man, Draymond Green, Kyle Anderson, Brandin Podziemski and Gary Payton II are all listed, with the former probable and the latter two out with Anderson in the same boat as Curry.

Will Joel Embiid play tonight for the 76ers?

However, it’s not all bad new for the east coast side as the 76ers key player, Joel Embiid, is once again questionable with an injury. This time it’s a left foot sprain. for the player who has been plagued by issues all season. Embiid has only played in 11 games this season but has averaged 23.7 points, 7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in those games.

The Warriors go into the game with a 16-16 record, sitting at the 10th seed in the Western Conference; the 76ers hold a 13-18 record and are in 11th in the Eastern division.
