It’s that time of year again. The NCAA season is over, and the festive bowls are almost upon us. Michigan has been ranked No. 1 while Washington Huskies are the No. 2 team. ,That means that the Wolverines will face No. 4 Alabama, and the Huskies go up against No. 3 Texas Longhorns in the College Football Playoff. Fifth and sixth are Florida State and Georgia Bulldogs, respectively.
College Football Bowl: an American tradition
Bowl season is one of American sports’ greatest and longest-running traditions, kicking in from mid-December and running through until early January. It has been college football’s post-season for over 100 years, promoting the grand tradition of the bowl system and its endearing value to student-athletes, highlighting the broader university and college communities, including spirit squads, marching bands, athletic staff, and, of course, fans.
This season spotlights the distinctiveness of each bowl game, along with their specific histories, traditions and proud communities, embracing and honoring the bowl experience for present and future generations.
