Update:

With the tension rising and the stakes getting ever-higher, the games in the College football bowl become more infrequent, with rest key ahead of huge ties in the tournament.

As such, I’m afraid that I’m here to say we’ve got no NCAA football on January 7 as the players continue with their preparations for the upcoming semi-finals.

When is the next 2025 bowl game?

Bowl season gets back underway on Thursday, January 9, with the Penn State Nittany Lions against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Orange Bowl.

This year, among the many changes to the format, the Orange Bowl will double up as the first semi-final of the 2024-25 College Football Playoff tournament.

The game will mark the 20th meeting between the two sides, who have a record ahead of time of 9-9-1. It was back at the 1976 Gator Bowl when the two sides last met in the College Bowl, and on that occasion it was the Fighting Irish who walked away with a 20-9 win. As for the last time they faced off against each other, that was in 2007, when the Nittany Lions fought to a 31-10 win.

2025 Orange Bowl: start time, how to watch TV or online

Held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, Thursday’s Orange Bowl is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT.

If you’re in the US, you can watch the CFP semi-final on ESPN, and can stream the network’s coverage on the online platform fubo, which offers a free trial.
