NCAA Final Four: Players to watch
March Madness has reached the Final Four. Here are the players to keep your eyes on in the last two matchups before the national championship.
The Final Four has arrived and it’s the No. 5 San Diego State Aztecs vs the No. 9 Florida Atlantic and the No. 5 Miami Hurricanes vs the No. 4 UCONN Huskies competing for a chance to play in the national championship. The games will be played this Saturday, April 1 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
How to watch the Final Four March Madness games
The first game of the night will be San Diego State vs Florida Atlantic followed by Miami vs UCONN. Throughout the tournament, there have been several standout players. Here are the ones to watch from each team in the Final Four.
San Diego State players to watch
Matt Bradley
Bradley leads San Diego State in points (12.5) per game and adds 2.1 assists per game. He’s putting up 3.8 rebounds, 0.7 steals, and 0.3 blocked shots. He’s been in a slump lately though, only scoring two points in SDSU’s Elite Eight win over Creighton and has shot just 6-for-27 in the last three games. If he’s the leading scorer, the Aztecs are going to need him to step up against Florida Atlantic.
Lamont Butler
Butler was San Diego State’s top scorer in the Elite Eight win over Creighton with 18 points. He also leads the team in assists (3.3) per game and is averaging 8.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 0.1 blocked shots.
Florida Atlantic players to watch
Johnell Davis
Playmaker Davis is the top scorer for Florida Atlantic with 13.9 points per game and on top of that is putting up 1.7 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Vladislav Goldin
Goldin is the top rebounder for the Owls with 6.6 per game and isn’t too bad with points either, putting up an average 10.3 per game. The 7′1″ center played a crucial role in protecting the rim in their win over Kansas State.
UCONN players to watch
Adama Sanogo
Sanogo put up 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in the Huskies’ Elite Eight win over Gonzaga, and that was not his best night. He’s 80-and-40 in the NCAA tournament and is a crucial defensive weapon for UCONN. He leads the team in both points (17.1) and rebounds (7.5) per game and has 0.7 steals and 0.8 blocked shots per game.
Jordan Hawkins
Hawkins has gone for 44 points in the last two games. He was the highest scorer in the last game with 20 points and is averaging 16.3 points, 1.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game.
Miami players to watch
Isaiah Wong
Wong has made 59 threes this season and finished the last Elite Eight game against Texas with 14 points, 12 of which he scored in the second half. Even before the tournament, he won the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year.
Jordan Miller
Miller helped the Hurricanes rally from a 13-point deficit to beat No. 2 Texas in the Elite Eight. He finished that game with 27 points on 7-of-7 from the field and 13-of-13 from the foul line. He is averaging 15.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game and defensively, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocked shots.
