Same matchup, same day, one year later. The Cowboys and Buccaneers are set to face off on Sunday Night Football.

The 2022 NFL season is officially here, and America’s team is set to face the same team they opened the 2021 season against, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This time, they play on home soil.

Last season, the Buccaneers beat the Cowboys 31-29 on that day, and went 13-4 during the season. They ended up losing in the NFC Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs. The Cowboys, on the other hand, went 12-5 and lost in the NFC Wild Card Round.

Brady and Bucs back to attack

This year, Tom Brady isn’t just back with the Bucs, but he’s determined to get another shot at the title to make his time away from his broken family worthwhile. The GOAT, who will be the oldest quarterback to start a game in the NFL, set a single-game record for combined completions in last year’s first game, throwing 379 yards with four touchdowns. So did Dallas’s quarterback, Dak Prescott, who compiled 403 yards with three touchdowns. There’s no doubt those two will be continuing to go after their scoring ways.

Despite Brady losing his safety valve and star tight end Rob Gronkowski, the Bucs still own one of the most productive offenses in the league. Led by Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, Tampa’s talented body of pass-catchers, in addition to Russell Gage, Scotty Miller and Julio Jones, will push the Cowboys’ front to the limits on Sunday night.

Dallas and Dorance ready to dance

Meanwhile, a prolific group of defensive ends led by Dorance Armstrong, will be going right after Brady. We will have to wait and see what happens in Week 1 of the exciting 2022 NFL season.

The Cowboys and Bucs are set to kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 11 from AT&T Stadium. How to watch it here.
