Aaron Rodgers, quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, was unable to start his NFL career as a starter since he was Brett Favre’s backup for three seasons, but that hasn’t taken away his chance of hitting all-time highs in the league.

Prior to today’s game against the New England Patriots, the four-time MVP had 498 touchdown passes between the regular season playoffs and with his 20-yard connection to tight end Robert Tonyan he put himself on the brink of the magic 500.

With 6:17 left in the fourth quarter, Rodgers hit rookie Romeo Dubs for his 500th career touchdown. The pass between the QB and the wide receiver was 13 yards from the shotgun position.

The 500 club

Reaching 500 touchdown passes is a record that very few players have managed to reach, and the select group is made up of Tom Brady (713), Drew Brees (608), Peyton Manning (579), Favre (552) and now Rodgers.

The group of Rodgers, Brady and Brees is outstanding since they are the only players who have thrown 500 touchdown passes with a single team. TB12 did it with the New England Patriots and Brees with the New Orleans Saints.

Only two players accumulated more than 450, but less than 499- Dan Marino and Ben Roethlisberger. Marino added 420 in the regular season and 32 in the playoffs for a total of 452, while ‘Big Ben’ recorded 418 and 36, for a total of 454.
