Adam Sandler offers cameo for next movie to this NFL star on Happy Gilmore 2 red carpet

Adam Sandler is a movie making machine who loves to incorporate his buddies, and superstar athlete in his films. It looks like this NFL star is next up.

Update:

Movie stars want to be athletes and athletes want to be movie stars. While movie stars more likely to play athletes, we have seen loads of athletes make the transition from the gridiron or hardwood to the big screen.

Adam Sandler seems to specialize in finding athletes who can make the switch from sport to the set. We have seen it with Shaquille O’Neal, Anthony Edwards, Juancho Hernangomez and loads of other athletes in previous movies.

King Henry’s next gig

It looks like Sandler has his next cameo lined up after offering Derrick Henry a role in his next movie on the red carpet of Happy Gilmore 2 in New York on Monday night. The Ravens running back went to the premier of the long awaited Happy Gilmore sequel and the two exchanged a handshake, a hug and seemed to work out a deal that will feature the King in Sandler’s next movie.

This all stems from Henry’s appearance on the Dan Patrick Show last year. Patrick asked Henry who is favorite actor is, and the 2020 Offensive Player of the Year answered Adam Sandler. Patrick, who is friends with Sandler and has featured in a handful of movies directed by Sandler said if he rushed for 2,000 yards last season he would get Sandler to put him in a movie.

Super Bowl ring and Oscar in 2025?

Henry fell just short of 2,000 yards, ending the season with 1,921 yards but it seems like the offer still stands. Had King Henry would have been the second 2,000 yard season of the future Hall of Famer’s career after he did it in 2020 with the Tennessee Titans.

After eight years in Nashville, Henry went to Baltimore to chase his first Super Bowl, but the Ravens were knocked out of the playoffs by the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs back in January.

The Ravens start training camp on Tuesday morning and will be hoping that this is the year that Henry and two time MVP QB Lamar Jackson lead them to Super Sunday. That will be the objective, but Henry might take up some acting lessons in his spare time while he waits for the call from Sandler.
