Super Bowl LIX will take place on Sunday, February 9. While the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs have been preparing for this moment all season, so have several companies who are willing to shell out millions of dollars to advertise their product during the big game.
AI takes center stage
Super Bowl ads have historically been timely, featuring the most popular phrases, celebrities, and trends of the current era. This year, artificial intelligence will take center stage.
Despite China’s AI app DeepSeek throwing Silicon Valley into a recent panic, AI companies and products will be a main feature of Super Bowl ads in 2025.
“AI is coming. If it’s not already here in almost every business, it will be coming like a freight train,” said Mark Evans, executive vice president of ad sales for Fox Sports. “So you will see some more AI focused creative, which I think intuitively would be expected.”
While Evans did not name specific brands, he said that large companies which invest in AI as well as AI-focused companies will be a big part of the Super Bowl commercials this year, compared to years' past. We’re likely to see companies like Google using AI in its ads, but we may even see OpenAI startups like Anthropic represented as well.
