B-1B Bombers and F-35s: meet the 8 military jets leading the Super Bowl LX flyover
A mixture of agile jets and bomber planes are set to fly over the Levi’s Stadium ahead of Super Bowl LX.

The skies above Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California are set to rumble to the sound of a spectacular aerial tribute for Super Bowl LX.
In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the United States Air Force and Navy will team up for a distinctive flyover before Super Bowl LX, featuring a mix of strategic bombers and advanced fighters that embody the power of the US military.
America’s biggest sporting events have long been paired with a moment of national pride in the form of a military flyover - and this year’s formation will be no different: eight aircraft, four each from the Air Force and the Navy will be out on show. Trump would have loved to see it, but he’s apparently bought a family size bucket of ice cream and will watch from home.

Leading the charge from the Air Force will be two B-1B Lancer bombers. Known by their nickname “Bone,” these supersonic aircraft have served as a key element of America’s military might since entering service in the 1980s. Though primarily designed for combat operations, their inclusion in ceremonial flyovers is a testament to their iconic silhouette and enduring presence in the fleet.
Joining the bombers will be two F-15C Eagle fighters, air superiority aircraft that have defended US skies for decades. Instantly recognisable with twin tails and powerful engines, F-15Cs bring a classic fighter presence to the flyover. They’re the quarter-pounder with cheese of flyovers.
From the sea service, the flyover will feature a pair of F/A-18E Super Hornets, the Navy’s workhorses. These jets are a common sight at major air shows and national celebrations, thanks to their versatility and the distinctive roar of their twin afterburning turbofans.
Completing the formation will be a pair of F-35C Lightning II fighters. As the carrier variant of the Joint Strike Fighter family, the F-35C brings stealth and sensor fusion to naval aviation. Its sleek lines and cutting-edge technology symbolise the future of aerial operations.
