Bill Burr doesn’t hold back: The comedian sends clear message about about NFL referees’ role in Chiefs’ success
In an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Burr hinted the NFL do their utmost to ensure Kansas City keep on winning.

The Kansas City Chiefs are most people’s favorites to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles and clinch a first ever Super Bowl ‘three-peat,’ aided by their opponents’ choice of uniform and, according to conspiracy theorists such as comedian Bill Burr, NFL referees and the league itself.
Fans of the league’s other 31 teams have, rightly or wrongly, long suggested the Chiefs have benefited from ‘friendly’ officiating. For some, that feeling has been reinforced in recent weeks by key moments in their run to the upcoming Super Bowl.
“The Chiefs do get a lot of calls”: Rich Eisen skeptical of NFL referees
That includes Patrick Mahomes getting a call for a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness in the Divisional Round against the Houston Texans, which raised plenty of eyebrows, including those of NFL Commentator Rich Eisen, who called the decision “unacceptable”.

In last weekend’s AFC Championship Game, Buffalo Bills quarterback QB Josh Allen took a snap and tried a tush push, but was ruled short of the line to gain. After review the call was confirmed by the refs and the Chiefs got the ball and took the lead with a Mahomes TD run five plays later.
That again drew the attention of Eisen, who claimed on Monday that “the Chiefs do get a lot of calls”.
Bill Burr makes outrageous Chiefs-NFL claim
Also invited to give his opinion on The Rich Eisen Show was Burr, who went a step further and suggested it’s in the best interests of the NFL for the Chiefs to keep on winning, for both on and off-field reasons.
“Maybe one guy says it is a first down, and the other guy says it isn’t. You know which way it’s gonna go,” Burr began when asked on Allen being penalised against the Chiefs.
The comedian then offered his broader thoughts on the Kansas City’s NFL dominance, and somewhat mischievously hinted the league fixes the results of Chiefs games because of its present status.
“I just think, where is the money? I mean, come on, man. They got all the stars, they got Taylor Swift. That’s gonna be a lot…it’s a business.
“Why are they an entertainment league? Why aren’t they a sports league? If you’re called an entertainment league, and a game is proven to be fixed, from what I’ve read, you can’t be tried, because it’s entertainment. It’s sports entertainment.
Is ‘Chiefs fatigue’ a thing?
If they Chiefs do happen to become the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls, the Massachusetts native won’t be tuning in, with Eisen telling him he’s the latest victim of “Chiefs fatigue”.
“I don’t watch Chiefs games. I don’t. It drives me insane. I’ll live. I’ve watched, like, 50 of them.
The Chiefs take on the Eagles at Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9.
