Bills lose defensive prospect for the season as worrying trend continues
DeWayne Carter is set to miss the entire season with an injury.

The Buffalo Bills have seen their preseason plans take a huge hit after it was revealed that defensive lineman DeWayne Carter will be out for the season with an Achilles injury.
Reports emerged that the Duke product had injured himself during Wednesday’s practice session with the side, and the player himself confirmed the physical issue on social media, writing: “This is all a part of my testimony. I will be back. ✝️ John 13:7." He later posted a photo from a hospital bed, presumably ahead of surgery.
Carter, who was picked by the Bills in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, played 11 games, with 14 tackles, and eight pressures in his debut campaign, playing an important role behind starters Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, T.J. Sanders, and Deone Walker.

Who will replace DeWayne Carter on the Bills’ roster?
As for who will replace the 24-year-old from Ohio, Zion Logue and Jordan Phillips are both on the Bills’ practice squad and could be promoted to their 53-man roster given the news regarding Carter.
The Bills will now have to look for solutions to another injury issue, as Kentucky standout cornerback Maxwell Hairston was recently ruled out for the start of the campaign with a knee injury. As per ESPN, the Buffalo Bills placed the rookie on IR; he will be able to rejoin the rest of the roster when fully recovered.
Veteran free agent addition Larry Ogunjobi will also miss the first six games of the season as he serves an NFL suspension.
