Browns 32 vs 41 Broncos summary, stats, scores and highlights | NFL Week 13
The Broncos would respond with a field goal to take the lead with just over 2:00 minutes left but they gave the ball back to an offense they couldn't stop all night. And then it happened. Jameis is going to Jameis. And he Jameised. Throwing a pick right into the hands of Ja'Quan McMillan for the second time, and this time he took it to the house for the second pick six of Jameis' night.
The Broncos now go into their much needed break with a record of 8-5 and holding a comfortable cushion over the rest of the pack of chasers in the AFC Wild Card race. For the Browns, they have been considerably better with Jameis Winston as their QB, and much more entertaining. He's going to have the rest of the season to impress as he fights for the starting job in Cleveland.
Winston and the Browns took their chance and took the lead with a short pass play to Nick Chubb who made the wide open catch in the end zone. He ended the night with just 21 yards on 9 carries but this catch put the Browns in the lead with 9:00 to go in the 4th.
The Broncos kicked a field goal to stretch the lead to six, but Nix made another big mistake when the Broncos had a chance to take a two possession lead. Instead, he got picked off on the first play of this drive, and that opened the door for the Browns to take the lead.
On the next play from scrimmage, Jameis Winston hits former Denver Bronco Jerry Jeudy with a 70 yard bomb to cut the lead back to 3 after a two point conversion. Jeudy had a career high 235 yards on 9 catches and put on a show in front of the fans he used to call his. They booed him all night long, but he had a massive night in his return to the Mile HIgh City.
The first few possessions were quick three and outs to start the second quarter, but backed up inside their own 10 with a third and long, Bo Nix took a shot down the field and hit Marvin Mims Jr. for a 93 yard connection. Nix ended the night with 294 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs on 18/35 passing. The rookie Mims reeled in 105 of those passing yards most on this long pass play that looked like it swung the momentum in favor of Denver.
Winston rebounded with a quick drive in which he went 7/11 and hit Njoku in the end zone for his second TD catch of the night. Njoku ended the night with 9 catches for 52 yards and two TDs.
Jameis will Jameis. That's the beauty of him. When he's great he's great, but he can have some costly, costly mistakes even when he is great and that was the case on Monday night. His first mistake came right before halftime when the Browns were driving with a chance to take the lead at halftim, but he was picked off by Nik Bonitto who took it back 71 yards on the pick six.
Nix rebounded from the INT, hitting three pass plays for over 15 yards as the Broncos marched down the field and took the lead on a short run from Mike Burton. The game was good to this point, but the show was just getting started.
Bo Nix didn't came into the game with just two INTs in the last eight games, but he had to pass the ball a lot against a Browns defense that was shutting down the run for most of the night. He got picked by Greg Newsome after a fantastic play by Denzel Ward. That lead to a field goal that put the Browns in the lead for the first time.
Jameis Winston and the Browns came to play spoiler on Monday night. After beating the Steelers last Thursday, they gave the Broncos a fight in the MIle High City. Winston had over 100 yards in the first two drives of the game and that was just the start of his night. He found David Njoku in the end zone for the first of his two first half TDs.
It was a wild game from Denver as the Broncos held on to win a shootout on Monday night football. Bo Nix had 294 yards and a TD, but the defense came through when they needed to coming up with a couple big plays late in the 41-32 win.
The Broncos started of the game with a three and out, but Bo Nix would respond on the next drive, converting three third downs and leading Denver up to the 1 yard line where Javonte Williams punched in the game's first TD.
After a field goal gave the Broncos the lead, Jameis had a chance to go win the game. But Jameis is going to Jameis. He threw a pick six that sealed the deal for the Broncos.

Tonight's odds
The Broncos come into tonight the overwhelming favorites, at home, riding a two game win streak, but the Browns usually show up for big games and they are coming off a long week of rest in which they played last Thursday and didn’t have to play again until Monday night. Denver is -6 and the Over/Under is set at 42 points.
Browns vs. Broncos spread: Denver -6
Browns vs. Broncos over/under: 42 points
Browns vs. Broncos money line: Denver -280, Cleveland +227
fThe Broncos should win this game. They are a better team in a better moment, but you just never know with Jameis Winston. He is a wild card and you know he is going to be spectacular, for the good or the bad. I think he comes out and has a big game and more importantly I think Myles Garrett and the defense builds on last weeks performance against the Steelers.
Browns win 24-11.
AFC Standings
Taking a look at the AFC standings we see the Cleveland Browns all but eliminated from the playoff picture. They would have to win out and then need several other miracles to sneak in, but the Broncos are in prime position and this is the part of the season where we start talking about controlling your own destiny. They are 7-5 and currently have the third and final Wild Card spot. That’s most likely what they will be fighting for since the Chiefs are 11-1 and don’t look like they are capable of a late season collapse. The closest contenders to the Broncos spot in the playoffs are the 6-7 Colts and the 5-7 Dolphins. The could put a nice cushion between them and those two teams with a win tonight.
Head to head
These two teams have only met 32 times since 1970. In that time the Broncos have dominated the series, winning 27 of those match ups with only 7 losses. Three of of those wins came against the Browns in AFC Championship games including two back to back match ups in the conference championship back in 1988 and 1989. The Broncos have a leg up in recent history, winning three of the last five, including a 29-12 win in Denver back in 2023.
Star watch: Browns
Jameis Winston isn’t just a star when he has a microphone in front of his face. He has his moments of brilliance, but he can also be a bit sporadic. Since taking over against the Ravens in late December, he has thrown for 7 TDs, and 4 INTs and has two 300 yard performances in four games. Both of those 300 yard games came in the two wins that he has led the Browns to, so the formula to victory is pretty simple. Let Jameis fling it around the field. He knows when the spotlight is on him, and that’s when he usually shines the brightest. He’s got nothing to lose in Denver, so why not go out and make a little noise, have a little fun and leave us with a memorable sound clip or two.
Star watch: Broncos
While the star of the show in Denver is the defense, Bo Nix has become a new fan favorite for a fan base that has seen greats like John Elway and Payton Manning suit up in the blue and orange of the Broncos. The Broncos started the season introducing him into the NFL with a game plan that consisted of mainly short passes as he dinked and dunked his way into a comfortable state in his debut year in Denver. They started to open up the play book, and at the same time Nix started to use his legs to keep the defense honest and since he started to find his groove the Broncos have been a legitimate team in the AFC. Nix has 2,548 yards and 16 TDs with just 6 INTs while completing 64.9% of his passes. He also has 300 yards rushing and 4 TDs on the ground. Jayden Daniels has 15 TDs and 6 INTs to go along with his 2,819 yards passing and nearly 70% completion percentage. Its’ going to boil down to two for the Rookie of the Year award, and is going to be neck and neck until the end.
Season recap: Broncos
The Broncos came into the season with really no expectations considering the dumpster fire they have been over the last few years. Really the last decade has been like that in Denver. Sean Payton wanted his team to draft Bo Nix in the first round of the draft, and even though it got off to a bumpy start, the Broncos and their rookie righted the ship winning their next three and five of their next six. Nix might be playing better than any of the rookie QBs this season, and he has a dominant defense to ease some of the burden off his shoulders. Denver is now right in the thick of the playoff hunt, but they have to keep winning to keep the rest of the pack chasing. Huge game tonight from home for the rookie QB and Sean Payton from Mile High.
Season recap: Browns
The Browns season has been one big disappointment after another. They lost six of their first seven as QB Deshaun Watson struggled to run the offense and eventually the fans turned on him. He would suffer a season ending achilles injury against the Bengals, and the fans weren’t shy about letting them know their feelings. The Jameis Winston era started the next game and he led them to a shock win over the Ravens for just the second victory of the Browns season. Two ugly losses to the Chargers and the Saints reminded Browns fans that this season is impossible to save, but a moment in the sun on a snow covered night against Pittsburgh might have rejuvenated this team once again. There is not much to play for but jobs, pride and the chance to play spoiler. Let’s see how reigning NFL Coach of the Year Kevin Stefanski has his team finish out the year.
Last game: Broncos
The Broncos had a tricky game with the Raiders in Las Vegas last week, but Bo Nix made light work of the Raiders in a record setting day from Allegiant Stadium. Denver waited until the second half to kick it into overdrive, but Will Lutz’s three field goals kept them in the game. They went to half trailing 13-9 but Nix would pass for two TDs, and Will Lutz put the game on ice with his 4th field goal of the day to put the Broncos up 10 with under 2:00 to go in the 4th quarter. Nix set a Denver rookie record with his 16th TD pass, but more importantly, he led the Broncos to another win to keep them controlling their own desitny in the AFC Wild Card Chase.
Last game: Browns
Who can forget the Browns last game that was played in a snow globe from Cleveland. On a short week, Jameis Winston and the Browns played like a team with nothing to lose and for the second time this season they dropped one of the top teams not only in the division but in the AFC. First it was the Ravens about a month ago, and last Thursday is was the Steelers. Jameis Winston and the Browns overcame a fourth quarter fumble and an interception, but battled back to take the lead with a Nick Chubb second TD run of the game with under a minute to go in the game. Jameis Winston finished the game with 219 yards and an INT, but ran one early in the fourth quarter and Chubb got a bit of redemption against the team that he suffered a season ending injury last year.
We are live from Empower Stadium
Hello everyone and welcome to the Mile High City where the Broncos are back home and riding a two game win streak after a rough patch of games against two of the AFC’s best teams. They responded from their two losses to the Ravens and the Chiefs with back to wins over the Falcons and the Browns, and they are sitting comfortably in the Wild Card spot at the moment. The Browns have nothing to play for but pride and to spoil some teams playoff hopes along the way. They did that last Thursday against what was looking like an invincible Steelers team, but they shocked Pittsburgh to bring the AFC North even closer, and that’s what they will be hoping to do tonight against the Broncos in front of a Denver fanbase dreaming about a return trip to the playoffs for the first time since 2015.
