Buffalo Bills ask fans to help shovel snow ahead of Wild Card Round clash with Pittsburgh Steelers

It was already assured to be a cold, snowy, and wind-swept evening in Buffalo, but the problem seems to be so bad that the Bills have asked for help.

With a spot in the Divisional Round at stake, the Bills appear to be pulling out all of the stops as they look to battle the effects of adverse weather conditions. Of course, the snow is just one problem. There’s also the matter of their opponents, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bills seek help with the snow ahead of Steelers clash

Earlier this week, there were suggestions that the Super Wild Card Weekend matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills might be moved due to the extreme weather conditions that are expected. Now that the NFL has confirmed that it will not be relocating the game, the Bills who are hosting have been forced to address the problem at hand: Mass amounts of snow. To that end, the home team has taken a rather creative approach to the situation. On Friday, the franchise posted a “help wanted” advertisement in connection with clearing the snow.

Interested individuals are asked to come to Highmark Stadium at 10:00 p.m. ET on Saturday to shovel snow throughout the night. As per the ad, those who participate will be paid $20 per hour with the promise of food and breaks during the shift. To register, one needs to be at least 18 years of age and in possession of a photo identification. Those under 18 will be asked to present the appropriate working papers.

So, what’s deal with the weather? For starters, a winter storm warning from 10:00 a.m. ET to 7:00 a.m. ET on Monday has been issued for Buffalo according to Weather.com. It’s also understood that the region can expect heavy lake effect snow and strong winds throughout the weekend. Further to that, there will be at least 1 to 3 feet of snow on the ground. This is all to say that as much as we can expect heat on the field when the teams clash, there’s going to be a whole lot of effort to clear the field before they do. Hopefully Bills fans are up to the task. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
