Cam Heyward, Steelers’ DT, on Pittsburgh’s team effort to beat the Dolphins: “It’s a testament to guys buying in”
The Steelers DT spoke to the press about the solid win over the Miami Dolphins.

When the final whistle blew on Monday Night Football at Acrisure Stadium, the Pittsburgh Steelers had not only beaten the Miami Dolphins 28-15 but sent a loud message about their talent and fortitude. The victory extended their unbeaten home run on Monday night games to 23 and kept them atop the AFC North.
Veteran defensive tackle Cam Heyward, spoke to the press in the aftermath. Heyward pointed out that the performance reflected commitment of the side: “It’s a testament to guys buying in,” he said, acknowledging how much the group’s cohesion contributed to the result.
“Coach always talks about jumping on a moving train,” he said. “These guys are professionals. I’m watching, as soon as Thielen gets here, he’s opening up his playbook and still studying. They spend a lot time really learning the offense, learning the defense. Asante has been really chomping at the bit to get reps, and he played very well with them.”

“There’s some castoffs, which makes it really special”
Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns in the win, also highlighted contributions from players most observers might overlook. “There’s some castoffs if you look at our roster, which makes it really special,” Rodgers admitted. “Kenny Gainwell signed a next-to-nothing contract. Connor Heyward, an afterthought, had a touchdown run. Marquez has been on a couple teams. Adam Thielen got cut. Samuel was on the street for a long time. So says a lot about the character of the guys we brought in.”
Rodgers was right to laud his teammates: their talent helped Pittsburgh erase a four-game streak of their own offensive struggles and dominate the second half of the contest.
On defence, even with some star names unavailable, Pittsburgh held Miami’s attack at bay. The Dolphins were held to minimal success and never managed to find traction, with their hopes of a postseason run now evaporated. Offensively, Pittsburgh found balance with Rodgers completing 23 of 27 attempts as he helped the team assert control after halftime.
Cam Heyward said postgame that he, Nick Herbig and Alex Highsmith agreed that if one of them got a sack, they'd do T.J. Watt's sack celebration. Heyward got a sack and did it: "I don't think I got my leg up high enough." #Steelers #NFL @CamHeyward pic.twitter.com/AKMpMJOc3b
