AT&T Stadium roof sheet falls onto the field: Will the Texans vs Cowboys game be postponed?
Dallas was preparing to host the Texans in Monday Night Football when a huge piece of metal fell from above.
The Dallas Cowboys' disastrous 2024 NFL season suffered another mishap on Monday when a piece of the stadium roof fell from above ahead of game time.
The Cowboys are due to host the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football, an occasion that had persuaded team officials to open the roof of AT&T Stadium for the first time in two years.
However the grand reopening was less-than-successful, ended abruptly when a huge sheet of metal fell from the retractable roof and landed on the turf. Footage shared online shows a piece of metal more than 10 feet long.
Will the Cowboys game be postponed after stadium roof incident?
The huge slab of roofing material that fell from a great height is clearly a major issue for the Cowboys to address ahead of the game. With around 80,000 people expected to gather for Monday’s game the need to ensure fan safety is paramount.
However, it is though that today’s incident was a one-off, with no further risk to spectators after the roof was resealed this afternoon. There has been no suggestion, either from the team or from the league, that the MNF clash is in danger of delay or suspension.
