Having arrived at the halfway point of the season with less-than-ideal records, this is a critical game for both teams as they look to keep themselves in the playoff picture. With a number of players listed in the injury report, it will be challenging, to say the least.

Chargers - Jets: The lay of the land

NFL’s Week 9 will conclude on Monday night with a game between the Los Angeles Chargers (3-4) and the New York Jets (4-3) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Where the Chargers are concerned, the team is fresh off of a gritty 30-13 win against the Chicago Bears in Week 8, a game in which quarterback Justin Herbert gave fans in Los Angeles something to cheer about as he completed 31 of his 40 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns.

The Jets on the other hand, are sitting pretty after winning three consecutive games albeit not in the most prolific way as evidenced by their not-so-pretty overtime win over the New York Giants. On that night, quarterback Zach Wilson didn’t do himself any favors as he went 17-36 in passing for 240 yards and a touchdown. Between the two teams there are a number of players listed in the injury report, which is to say there will be challenges on either side of the divide as they look to improve their respective records.
