Dak Prescott’s contract details: How much money does the Cowboys’ QB make?

Update:

Dak Prescott signed a four-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys in September 2024. That deal, worth $240 million ($231 million guaranteed) included an $80 million signing bonus - an unprecedented figure at the time.

The 31-year-old has all eyes on him in 2025 as he looks to bounce back from a difficult season last year.

Salaries (and expectations) rising

Prescott is the first quarterback to earn $60 million a year. Whether or not that will help take the Cowboys to the playoffs in 2025 is yet to be seen.

Prescott played in eight games for the Cowboys in 2024 before getting injured. At that point the team’s record was 3-5 and the QB’s stats were less than impressive (64.7% completion rate, 11 touchdowns, eight interceptions 1,978 passing yards.

The Cowboys are under pressure to return to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 1995 season, when they beat the Steelers 27-17. It’s been, yes, that’s right, 30 years since they reached the final game and expectations are high for Jerry Jones’ squad in 2025.

With new coach Brian Schottenheimer and some other big pay days for Prescott’s receivers: CeeDee Lamb ($136 million for four years) and new WR from the Pittsburgh Steelers, George Pickens ($6.8 million for four years), it just might be time for the players to prove that they’re worth the money Jerry Jones is paying them.
