Dallas Cowboys catch shade after USMNT loss

After the USMNT was eliminated from Copa América, it was the Dallas Cowboys who ended up getting the blame somehow.

The Dallas Cowboys actually have a pretty good track record of wins at their AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Unfortunately for them, they aren’t the ones that really matter. When it comes to winning games that matter, well…it’s been nearly three decades since they did that. And people don’t forget it.

Cowboys get trolled after USMNT Copa América elimination

AT&T Stadium hosted the United States men’s national soccer team during their opening Copa América game on June 23 and, like the Cowboys typically do at home, they played well. The USMNT won 2-0 over Bolivia.

Unfortunately, their next game, held at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium on July 1, didn’t go so well. They needed a win to be able to advance to the knockout round but ended up losing 1-0 to Uruguay and being eliminated early from the tournament.

A win at AT&T Stadium followed by an earlier-than-expected elimination? Sounds familiar…

And that brings us to this tweet by FanDuel, who posted a photo of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and coach Mike McCarthy with the caption “USMNT:”.

The Cowboys fans will be suffering from these kinds of jokes until they can finally win something worth talking about, like, I don’t know, a Super Bowl. But even winning an NFC title game at this point would be nice. It’s been 29 years since they’ve won either. Until they end that drought, better just get used to it.
