Divisional round games and schedule confirmed for 2025 NFL playoffs

The LA Rams and the Minnesota Vikings met in the final game of the Wild Card round, battling to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

The first round of the 2025 NFL playoffs concluded on Monday evening with a resounding win for the LA Rams against the Minnesota Vikings. The Rams cruised to a 27-9 victory at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium.

Earlier in the weekend the Houston Texans beat the Los Angeles Chargers and the Baltimore Ravens triumphed against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. The following day saw wins for the Buffalo Bills over the Denver Broncos, the Philadelphia Eagles against the Green Bay Packers, and the Washington Commanders at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Commanders needed a bit of luck to clinch a late victory on the road, kicker Zane Gonzalez striking the post as he converted in the final seconds.

NFL playoffs Divisional Round schedule

Ahead of Monday’s Wild Card round finale the outline of the Divisional round had already started to take shape. The No. 1 seeds in both the AFC and the NFC - Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills - will enter the postseason picture next weekend and both have home games.

The Chiefs will host the Houston Texans, while the Bills will be at home against the Baltimore Ravens.

Sunday’s results confirmed that the Detroit Lions will host the Washington Commanders in the NFC Divisional Round. Finally, the MNF meeting between the Rams and the Vikings ensured that the Eagles will take on the Rams in the next stage of the playoffs.

The only away win of the Wild Card round was the Washington Commanders' road victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Commanders finished the regular season with a 12-5 record but that was only good enough for second in the NFC East, while the Buccaneers topped NFC South with just ten wins.

The Commanders have their work cut out in the Divisional round, where they will meet the imperious Detroit Lions. With a 15-2 regular season record and in-form Jared Goff, the Lions will be a hoping to challenge for a first-ever championship in team history.
