Don’t sleep on this Cowboys RB in your 2025 NFL Fantasy draft
It’s never too early to start thinking about Fantasy Football. As training camps get going, keep an eye on this Cowboys running back as a potential sleeper.
The NFL season is just a few months away, but the teams are already getting ready as training camps kick off this month. That means it’s already time to start watching the players closely to see who has Fantasy Football potential.
The Dallas Cowboys return to Oxnard for their first practice this Monday, July 21 and one new member of the team has been dubbed a fantasy sleeper for the 2025 season.
Cowboys’ backfield shakeup includes fantasy sleeper
The Cowboys did a complete overhaul of their running back room ahead of the 2025 season, including the additions of veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders along with rookie Jaydon Blue, who they added in the draft.
They will all be competing for the RB1 spot, but according to Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport, Williams is a fantasy sleeper, as he’s the Cowboys’ strongest breakout candidate - especially now that he’s reportedly healthy and ready to revitalize his career after injury setbacks in Denver.
“Williams isn’t guaranteed the lead job in Dallas - he’s competing with veteran Miles Sanders and rookie Jaydon Blue. But Sanders was awful the past two years in Carolina (just 55 carries in 2024), and Blue is an undersized back,” Davenport wrote.
“If Williams truly is healthy again, he should win this competition - and Dallas got a 1,000-yard season and low-end fantasy RB2 numbers out of Rico ‘Not Exactly Barry Sanders’ Dowdle last year.”
With training camp starting July 21, fantasy football players will be watching the Cowboys’ backfield closely.
