Eagles - Saints live online: stats, scores and highlights
Carr and the Saints were driving into field goal range with under a minute to go, but Reed Blankenship put an end to their comeback bid with this diving interception to call game and hand the Saints their first loss of the season.
Barkley punched in the game winning TD with his second of the day and fifth in an Eagles jersey. There was still a lot of time, and the Eagles put themselves in a situation similar to that they had against the Falcons when Atlanta came back to beat them, but that wasn't happening again on Sunday in New Orleans.
With no AJ Brown, and DeVonta Smith going down with an injury someone was going to step up and that was Dallas Goedert. It wasn't just this 61 yard catch and run, he made big play after big play and ended the night with 170 yards. This play set up the go ahead TD from Barkley on the very next play.
You had to know the Saints were going to eventually turn on the offense, it just took the team that scored 92 points in their first two games 58 minutes to do so. Derek Carr hit his favorite target Chris Olave for the only TD of the Saints day. Carr ended the night with 142 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT on 14/25 passing.
Coming out of the halftime break, you could see the Eagles wanted to get Barkley more involved. He had just 5 carries in the first half, he had 12 in the second half and ignited the offense for Philly. It took more than 45 minutes but the Eagles finally got into the endzone on this sprint to the endzone from their star running back. The former Giant went for 147 yards and two TDs on 17 carries
The Eagles defense returned the favor to start the fourth quarter, turning the Saints over on downs after Alvin Kamara got stuffed short of the marker. He had 87 yards on 26 carries, but was far from the form he was in last week against the Cowboys.
The Eagles were knocking on the door again right before the halftime break, but they were stopped on their fake tush push that went to Saquon Barkley. He was stood up at the line of scrimmage as the team that scored over 90 points in the first two games went into to the break up 3-0.
Hurts and the Eagles were moving again midway through the second quarter, but Carl Granderson chased down Jalen Hurts and stripped him from behind. Hurts has been running more to start this season, but when he runs to his left bad things tend to happen from time to time.
The Philadelphia Eagles went into the hottest team in the league's house and cooled them off by slowing down the most explosive offense in the league over the first two weeks of the season. Dallas Goedert was the hero in the Big Easy catching 10 passes for 170 yards, none bigger than his 65 yarder that set up the game winning TD.
The Saints kicked a field goal on the opening possession of the game, but the defenses would take over for the next three quarters. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles moved the ball down the field easily, but the Saints defense would make big play after big play to keep Philly off the board.

WE ARE UNDERWAY FROM NEW ORLEANS!!!
The Saints get the ball to start the game and Derek Carr and the NO offense begin the day at the 30.
Today's odds
The Saints are coming into this game as slight favorites, but this one is anyones guess. New Orleans are a 2.5 favorite with the Over/Under set at 49.
I really don’t know who to take in this game but it will say I think 49 points is a lot. Both teams have great offenses and really good QBs but the Eagles are going to try to run the ball and dictate the pace of game. I’m taking the Under.
Saints win 21-17
Marky Mark in the building too
Drew Brees isn't the only legend in the house, Mark Ingram is also sensing something brewing in New Orleans. This is the first important game the Saints have had in a really really long time. The now retired players know that and they weren't going to miss out on the opportunity to show up to the stadium.
Special guest in the house
The last time the Saints went to the Super Bowl, it was on the shoulders of that man right there. Since he retired the Saints have been trying to rebuild a championship team with no luck, but this team might be different from those in the past. Brees is in the building to take a closer look at this team that looks like the best in the NFL after two weeks.
Head to head
These two teams may be in the same conference, but they don’t play all that often. This will be just their 36th match up all time, and the Eagles have a slight edge in the series history. The Eagles have won 19 and the Saints, 16 with the last match up coming back in January of 2023. That was an end of season game in which Jalen Hurts didn’t play in due to injury. The Saints won that game 20-10 in Philly and kept them from getting the No. 1 spot in the NFC, but that didn’t stop them from getting to the Super Bowl.
BIg Easy for the Big Game
All roads lead to New Orleans for Super Bowl Sunday. These two teams will be hoping to be playing in the Superdome come February. Both of these teams know what it's like to win a Super Bowl, but the Saints have a chance at something special. If they get to the big game, they will be just the third team to play on Super Bowl Sunday in their home stadium after the Rams in 2021 and the Bucs in 2020.
AJ OUT
AJ Brown sat out the game Philly last week, and he will be out again today against the Saints. Hurts had a decent game passing against ATL but Brown’s absence was felt. Devonte Smith stepped up and had 76 yards and a TD, but Hurts’ No. 1 option was out with a hamstring injury that is still plaguing him. He didn’t participate in practice this week and he will miss a second straight game.
Philly backing Barkley
He may have dropped the pass that could have won the game, but Philly fans have no doubt they would prefer to have Saquon then not have Saquon. After a few injury riddled seasons, and seasons with terrible QB play in New York, Barkley signed with division rivals Philly. He’s already got 204 yards and 2 TDs on the ground and another 44 yards and a TD receiving. With Hurts at QB in Philadelphia, he knows he’s going to get his time and space to make big plays.
Barkley "let my team down"
The Eagles had more than a 97% chance of beating the Falcons with under two minutes in the game according to the statistics, They were deep in ATL territory, up by 3, and facing a third and short that would have sealed the game. The Eagles decided to pass the ball on third down, and Barkley dropped the pass that would end up costing the Eagles the game. Barkey has been the best player on the field for Philly this season, but he admitted after the game “I let my team down.”
Hurts' knee no hurt any longer
Philly might have lost the game against the Falcons, but the one thing that they can take comfort in is their quarterback looks like the quarterback that took them to the Super Bowl a couple years ago. For the first time in over a season, we saw Hurts using his legs to change the game. Last year he had a knee injury he dealt with all year, and that kept him from running like we saw on Monday night. On a 4th and 3, he picked up a first down and more on a big scramble and that seemed to open the flood gates as Hurts ran for 85 yards.
Derek driving the Carr
Derek Carr is in the 11th year of his career, and it looks like he might finally have a team that he can lead into a deep playoff run. He parted ways with the Raiders two years ago, and and despite a season of ups and downs for the Saints last year, Carr had 25 TDs and just 8 INTs. He didn’t need to put up big numbers last game because the running game dominated Dallas, but he has shown he can go for 300+ no any given Sunday.
Kamara can do it all
For those of you who haven’t really been paying attention to the Saints over the last few years, you have been missing out on one of the game’s best dual threat running backs. While he’s never had a 1000 yard season rushing the ball, he’s alway one of the Saints leaders in receiving yards. Last week he had 3 on the ground and a receiving TD. He knows that the Eagles are going to come out looking to lock him down, but the offensive line has been giving their running back big holes to run through.
NFC Standings
We are just three weeks into the season, but it’s never too early to start looking at how things are shaping up in the standings. There are nine undefeated teams, nine teams without a win, and 12 other teams sitting at 1-1 coming into today. The Saints will be looking to prove themselves in the game of the week, but the Eagles know they need to comeback strong after losing last game to the Falcons.
Eagles season so far
The Eagles started their season in Sao Paolo, Brazil and went to the wire in their opening win over the Packers in Week 1. Saquon Barkley had three TDs in his Eagles debut, and the hopes were sky high in the City of Brotherly Love. Philly went home hoping to to stay undefeated, but Cousins and the Falcons had other ideas. Now they are back on the road taking on one of the best looking teams in the league.
Saints season so far
The Saints had the easiest start to the season of any team, playing the Panthers at home. They mopped the floor with the Panthers in a 47-10 win, but that didn’t really give us an indication of how good the Saints were because the Panthers are such a bad team. We got a better idea of the talent on this Saints team with their huge win over the Cowboys in Dallas. Today we will find out if this team can handle the hype and the pressure of being called the league’s best team.
Last game: Saints
After big blow out wins from both the Saints and the Cowboys in Week 1, it was a showdown of the best looking teams at the very very early point of the season. Alvin Kamara ran all over the Cowboys on his way to a four touchdown day. Derek Carr only threw the ball 16 times in the win, as the ground game dominated Dallas. Kamara had 115 of the 190 rushing yards on the night as New Orleans made a massive statement in their 44-19 win in Texas.
Last game: Eagles
The Eagles made their home debut on Monday night, and went back and forth with the Falcons for the first three quarters. Hurts showed a side of him we haven’t seen in a long time, making plays with his legs. He had 85 yards rushing and Barkley had 95 yards but Bijan Robinson gave the Eagles defense plenty of problems as well. The Eagles were in prime position to win but a third down conversion that would have ended the game was dropped by Barkley and Kirk Cousins punished Philly with a late game winning drive.
