Cooper DeJean thinks the key to winning again isn’t what you’d expect, it’s what players must leave behind.

Eagles star has surprising piece of advice for teammates to retain Super Bowl

When a rookie grabs a pick-six in the Super Bowl, most players would frame the moment forever. Cooper DeJean, though, is already telling his Philadelphia Eagles teammates to forget about it.
The 22-year-old defensive back, who returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown in the Eagles’ 40–22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs last February, says the real path to another title is psychological. Speaking to Forbes, DeJean stressed that the biggest lesson is putting last year in the past.

Why does DeJean want teammates to move on?
DeJean believes the danger lies in chasing a repeat as if it’s a rerun. “This year is going to be different,” he explained. “We’re going to have some younger guys playing, some guys making their first starts. The journey is never the same from year to year.”
That message isn’t just coming from him. Quarterback Jalen Hurts made headlines at camp for choosing not to wear his Super Bowl ring, a symbolic gesture that the Eagles were turning the page.
The roster remains consistent, but DeJean insists the mindset has to reset: new opponents, new challenges, new stakes.

What role will DeJean play in the Eagles’ repeat bid?
After starting nine games as a rookie, DeJean heads into year two as the Eagles’ nickel back and punt returner. He posted 51 tackles and a forced fumble last season, plus 211 punt return yards. He credits stability under defensive coordinator Vic Fangio for helping the game “slow down” as he adjusts.
“My goal has always been to win. Whatever I can do to help us reach that goal is what I’m willing to do.” And the bookies agree, currently lining them up as favorites to go back-to-back.
