Ex Miami Dolphins CB Xavien Howard’s ‘revenge porn’ case is disturbing

When looking at the allegations that the former Dolphins cornerback is facing, it’s hard not to feel disgust. At this point, the law will decide what comes next.

When looking at the allegations that the former Dolphins cornerback is facing, it’s hard not to feel disgust. At this point, the law will decide what comes next.

Whether in sports or life, there are certain things one just can’t do. With that in mind, should allegations against the one-time Miami Dolphins cornerback prove to be true, there can be no leniency shown.

The allegations against Xavien Howard are disgusting

According to reports, former Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard allegedly sent a boy sexually explicit images and videos of his mother because she refused to get an abortion. Yet, it gets worse as the court filing is understood to be part of a separate lawsuit filed against the former All-Pro in which he allegedly shared sexually explicit videos of another woman repeatedly after their relationship ended. As per reports, the new filing requests that the boy in question - he was a minor at the time - be allowed to sue Howard as part of the ongoing case against him.

Reports indicate that Howard was in a relationship with a woman in 2022 when she became pregnant during the fall of that year. At that point, Howard demanded that she have an abortion. After refusing to do so, Howard “went on a warpath against her,” according to the lawsuit. It was then that the now 30-year-old free agent allegedly sent the sexually explicit material of the woman to her son which is understood to have caused “significant emotional stress.” The woman explained that she sometimes texted Howard from her son’s phone which is how he had access to it according to reports. She also explained that when she discovered the messages she deleted them, but her son was able to view them later through his iCloud account. “This behavior is abhorrent, especially sending that to a child,” the boy’s attorney, Adriana Alcalde said.

As mentioned above, the situation comes on the back of another lawsuit filed against Howard by a separate woman who claims that after separating from the player in July 2022, she received “several sexually explicit videos” of herself and others. Further to that, she also disclosed that she received a message from another woman about the videos and that she was one of the women included in them. It is alleged that Howard told the woman in question that he shared the videos to “make her mad because she did not want to have sex with him.” Alcalde also weighed in on the sequence of events saying “She doesn’t know how many people he sent this to. “We’d like to figure out if anyone else has received these images, these inappropriate images.”

For his part, the out-of-work cornerback notched a total of 45 tackles and one interception across 13 games last season, which marked his eighth with the Dolphins. A first-team All-Pro selection in 2020 who has made four Pro Bowls, Howard has had a relatively successful career, however, he was released by the franchise in March with three years left on his contract. At present, he remains a free agent and given current circumstances, has likely done himself no favors where changing that is regarded. There has been no comment from the Dolphins or Howard since news of the lawsuit broke.
