Explaining the "Twitter war" between Micah Parsons and Dalton Schultz

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz used to play for the Dallas Cowboys, but after beating them on MNF, he took to social media to troll them.

The Houston Texans came into Dallas' territory and did what every other NFL team whose come into Dallas’ territory has done this season...they obliterated the Cowboys.

The Cowboys suffered their fifth straight loss, 34-10 to the Texans, and Houston had a good ‘ol time trolling them for it.

Micah Parsons calls out Dalton Schultz for troll on Dallas

Among those trolling was Texans tight end Dalton Schultz, who played for the Cowboys for five seasons from 2018 to 2022. Despite being a beloved part of the Dallas team, he’s now joined the dark side, which on Monday night, happened to be the winning side.

Even before the Texans win, Schultz made headlines for criticizing Dallas’ stadium tours, calling it a “zoo”. Then after the game, Schultz posted a video in which he pours milk into two coffee cups, which allow the words written on them in black to appear: “The Houston Texans are the best team in Texas!”

This is where Dallas edge rusher Micah Parsons comes in. As he tends to do, Parsons spoke on his podcast, “The Edge”, to criticize Schultz’s antics.

“I actually saw Dalton Schultz put some little coffee troll thing on Twitter. I was like, ‘What the hell?’ That little petty sidebar now that you’re over there,” Parsons said.

He went on to say that a player like running back Joe Mixon, who ran for 109 yards and three rushing touchdowns, had the right to talk smack, but that Schultz doesn’t because he had “no impact” in the game.

He’s not wrong. Schultz had just five receptions for 33 yards. But at the same time, if we’re limiting smack talk to impact players, then Parsons should be excluded as well. While he didn’t exactly talk smack after the game, during which he had just one assisted tackle, he did call the Cowboys a “damn good football team”, which is just...at this point, un-debatably not true.
