Falcons coach admits ‘extreme caution’ with progress over out of contract star
Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris has said that his medical staff are being ‘extremely cautious’ with Kyle Pitts and his injury.

Ahead of Week 2 of OTAs, Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris revealed that tight end Kyle Pitts is dealing with an injury that is being handled with extreme caution by the medical staff.
Morris explained to reporters why the 24-year-old was not present during the first media viewing period of practice—a development that led some to speculate his absence was related to the fact that he’s entering the final year of his contract.
According to Morris, however, this is categorically not the case. Interest in the Pennsylvania native has been reported, but the Falcons appear keen to brush it aside—at least publicly.

Nothing is imminent, and Atlanta would prefer to keep him — but I’m told it would take at least a Day 2 pick to even spark serious talks. pic.twitter.com/smNLgOcBow
‘He’s been absolutely outstanding to be around’
“Extremely cautious with Kyle right now and what he’s got going on,” Morris admitted. “Obviously, we don’t talk about injuries at this time of year, but we’re definitely being cautious with him, so you won’t see him.”
Amid the rumours about his future with the team, Morris stated that Pitts “has done such a great job... He’s been involved in everything we’ve done—except on the field—and he’s been absolutely outstanding to be around.”
Raheem Morris kept his cards close to his chest regarding the nature of Pitts’ injury, as well as the expected length of his absence. While reports have suggested the issue is a foot problem, this has not been confirmed by any official source.
There was some curiosity regarding #falcons TE Kyle Pitts, who's in the final year of his contract, and his absence during the first OTA. My understanding is Pitts is dealing with a bit of a foot issue and was in the building, just not on the field. This isn't contract related.
