Fantasy Football team of the week: NFL 2023 Week 15

We gotta show some respect to the most unappreciated football position when you figure out we have two running backs this week leading the FF rankings.

Christian McCaffrey #23 of the San Francisco 49ers, runs with the ball

Christian McCaffrey, the running back of the San Francisco 49ers, sliced through the Arizona Cardinals for the second time this season, leading the Niners to clinch their second consecutive NFC West division crown. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills’ running back, James Cook, played brilliantly in his team’s victory over the Cowboys.

Christian McCaffrey

Christian McCaffrey had an impressive game against the Cardinals. He made 18 carries for 115 yards and scored one touchdown. He also had five catches for 72 yards and two touchdowns. This season, he has played two games against the Cardinals and has a total of 364 scrimmage yards on 50 touches with seven touchdowns. This is tied for the most touchdowns by any player against a team in a season in the Super Bowl era.

McCaffrey also made history by tying with Marshall Faulk for the most games where he scored both ways in NFL history. He has scored in 15 different games in his career. Additionally, he is the fourth player in NFL history to have achieved at least 1,000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards in four or more seasons. Thurman Thomas, Tiki Barber, and Marshall Faulk are the other players who have achieved this feat.

Since entering the NFL in 2017, McCaffrey has made 6,018 rushing yards and 4,265 receiving yards. He is the third player, along with Faulk and Roger Craig, to achieve these numbers in his first seven seasons.

James Cook

Buffalo’s James Cook had an outstanding performance against the Dallas Cowboys, rushing for 179 yards and a touchdown and catching 2 passes for 42 yards and another touchdown. Cook’s quickness, agility, and excellent hands made him an ideal pick for the Bills, who drafted him out of Georgia.

Cook, who is 24 years old, stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 192 pounds. He was already having a good season before coach Sean McDermott changed play-callers. The Bills’ attack has become more diverse and effective with the new offensive coordinator, Joe Brady.

The whole team’s running game had its best performance under Brady in the 31-10 win over the Cowboys. Cook was a key player in this victory, contributing 179 yards with 25 carries, averaging 7.2 yards per attempt, and scoring a rushing touchdown. He also caught two passes for 42 yards, including another touchdown through the air.
