Fantasy Football top scorers by position: NFL 2025 Week 1
Congratulations on getting through the first week of NFL Fantasy Football! If you had one of these players, you got pretty lucky in Week 1.

The first week of the 2025-26 NFL season has come and gone just like that. As for Fantasy Football, this is the point where we assess our draft picks, scramble to pick up those surprise players, and drop the injured and the duds, but try not to panic.
If you had any of the following players in your lineup in Week 1, though, you were probably good to go, as these were the top scorers in Fantasy Week 1 by position.
(All points are based on PPR leagues in the NFL Fantasy app)
NFL Fantasy Football 2025: Week 1 top scorers
Quarterback
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills, 38.76 No surprise here, but Bills QB Josh Allen was the top-scoring quarterback in Week 1 with 38.76 points. The Bills beat the Ravens in a thrilling one-point game, and Allen led Buffalo with 394 passing yards and two touchdowns, plus 14 rushes for 30 yards and two more touchdowns. Last season, Allen was third in total fantasy points and the only QB to score over 40 points in two games. It looks like he’s on track for another big season in 2025.
Josh Allen of the @BuffaloBills is the first player in NFL history to have 250+ passing yards & 2+ rushing TDs in any single quarter of any single game.

Wide Receiver
Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens, 28.10: Although the Ravens lost to the Bills, Zay Flowers did his part in trying to stop it. After injuries hindered his season last year, he’s back to his old self. Against the Bills, he had seven catches (on nine targets) for 143 yards and a touchdown.

Running Back
Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens, 29.10: Another Ravens star who had a huge game was Derrick Henry, whose 169 rushing yards and two touchdowns earned 29.10 total fantasy points. Unfortunately for Henry, it was his fumble that led the Bills to score a touchdown and scoot ahead in the final minutes. But that won’t hurt fantasy managers’ feelings as he scored the third-most points of any player (behind Allen and Jets QB Justin Fields).
Derrick Henry reached a top speed of 21.07 MPH on his 46-yard TD run, per @NextGenStats 🏎️

Henry was the only RB who broke 20.5 MPH in Week 1 (not counting MNF)

Tight End
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints, 15.6: The Saints may have lost to the Cardinals, but tight end Juwan Johnson’s fantasy managers won’t be disappointed. Johnson ended up being the lead TE in New Orleans, despite Trey McBride being the expected top target. Johnson caught eight of 11 targets for 76 yards to put up 15.6 total fantasy points.
Juwan Johnson had cleared 80% of snaps in 1 out of 67 career games coming into today.

Defense
Denver Broncos, 14.0: The Broncos defense ruined Titans No. 1 overall pick QB Cam Ward’s debut, completely shutting down the Tennessee offense in a 20-12 victory. They held strong in four drives that began in Denver territory and allowed just six points off turnovers. Pat Surtain II, John Franklin-Myers, Jonah Elliss, and Zach Allen led a dominant unit that sacked Ward six times and hit him 12 times. The Broncos allowed the fewest points in a season opener since 2009.

Kicker
Spencer Shrader, Indianapolis Colts, 15.0: The Colts had a dominant win of 33-8 over the Dolphins on Sunday, and kicker Spencer Shrader was responsible for 15 of those 33 points. He went 4-for-4 on field goals from 24, 35, 28, and 48, and was 3-for-3 on extra points.
