Update:

Week 3 was the week of the running back. The top two performers in the league were ball carriers and both Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson carried their teams to wins over the weekend.

QB: Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers (31.3 points)

So far the Niners have looked like the best team in the league, and Brock Purdy is a big reason why. On Sunday in Arizona they needed every ounce of his brilliance against a Cardinals team that gave them a fight until the end. Injuries are starting to pile up for the 49ers, but the offense keeps on rolling. Purdy threw for 297 yards and 4 touchdowns on 15/27 passing to accumulate some big fantasy points, and lead his team to a 3-0 start to the season.

RB: Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions (41.4 points)

The top performer of the week, Jahmyr Gibbs, went off in the Lions win over the New York Jets. He scored three touchdowns, including the game winner with just over 2:00 to go in the 4th quarter. He is not only winning games for Detroit, but almost single handily winning fantasy matchups for owners who have him on their squads. He went for 99 yards and two touchdowns on the ground with another 65 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions

WR: Jaxson-Smith Njigba, Seattle Seahawks (35.4 points)

Just go ahead and mark JSN in this slot each and every week. The Seahawks receiver was doing it with Drew Lock under center, and this week he got his starter back. Having Sam Darnold slinging the ball around the field wasn’t enough to overcome a heroic performance from the Commanders, but JSN did just about everything he could to lead his team to victory. Aside from completing a 14 yard pass, the leading WR in the league went for 128 yards and two touchdowns on 10 receptions.

TE: Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders (27.6 points)

You had to know that Kirk Cousins was going to love having Brock Bowers available after the one of the best tight ends in the league sat out for the first two games of the season. In his first action of the season Bowers made up for lost time, catching 10 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in a shootout against the New Orleans Saints. The Raiders are off to an incredible undefeated start, and Bowers is only going to make them better.

Kicker: Spencer Shrader, Indianapolis Colts (17 points)

It was an ugly, low scoring, grind it out game from Indianapolis as the Colts beat the Houston Texans. That was the perfect setting for Spencer Shrader to do his thing in the division rivalry game in the AFC South. He hit four field goals, accounting for 12 of the 19 points scored by Indy on Sunday, going a perfect 4/4 with his long coming from 58 yards. He won the game for the Colts, hitting the go ahead field goal from 53 yards with 16 seconds on the clock to take the win and the top spot for kickers in Week 3.

D/ST: Minnesota Vikings (17 points)

With Kyler Murray back in under center after a successful relief stint from Carson Wentz, so there was some uncertainty heading into the game against Tampa. Then Justin Jefferson got hurt in the first quarter, which meant the defense was going to have to step up even more. They held the Bucs to 16 points, came up with two interceptions, and the special teams took a punt return back in the first quarter to advance Minnesota to 3-0.
